New England Dragway and NSA create strong alliance in 2010

New England Dragway (NED), located in Epping, New Hampshire will host the National
Speed Association’s (NSA) Pro Stock 1000 sled events for sixth season in 2010, including
the IHRA North American Nitro Jam.

When the NSA series officially kicked off in 2005, one of the many goals written into the
business plan was to become a viable form of entertainment.  After five seasons of proven
performance, the NSA series has evolved into one of the premiere groups to race at NED.

“Pro Stock snowmobile competitors truly reflect the basic tenets of drag racing”, said Joe
Lombardo, Track Manager of NED.  “The sport (of drag racing) is known as a venue for
those with ingenuity and talent to wring out the last drop of performance from their
respective machines.  Given the platform snowmobile competitors have to work with it's truly
amazing to see how far they've come,” added Lombardo.  “It's also a kick to watch the
expression on a fan's face when the scoreboard lights up at the end of a spectacular run.”
and Jet Cars Under the Stars event on August 7.  The NSA tour will contest its final points
event of the season at the IHRA North American Nitro Jam event in September, the track’s
major meet of the season.

Lombardo is enthusiastic about the return of the NSA Pro Stock Sled series this season.
So enthusiastic in fact, that he’s created a purse for the series.  NED will be paying $650 to
the NSA event winner and $350 to the runner up at each major event in 2010.  “NSA is
starting to develop a following at our major events,” said Lombardo.  “People enjoy the
class and it's becoming part of our major event program.”  The veteran track manager
believes in providing an incentive during these events to reward the NSA group for helping
the track grow.

This is the first time in the history of Pro Stock Asphalt Snowmobile racing that a venue has
acknowledged the strength of the ‘fast sleds’ by offering a payout.  The NSA group, with its
talent and competition has taken another major step forward in Pro Stock asphalt racing.

“The NSA series has emerged as one of the most organized groups to run at New England
Dragway” noted Lombardo.  “Simply put, it's a pleasure to work with them.”

New England Dragway, with its state-of-the-art timing system and amazing racing surface,
will again be the place where Pro Stock 1000 snowmobile records are set.
The NSA Pro Stock sled series will compete five
times at New England Dragway, starting on May
22 with the NSA season opener.  NSA will race
during the popular Funny Cars Under the Stars
event on June 12, Night of Fire event on July 17

Cullen/Abbott ready to race in 2010

May 18, 2010 – Jeff Cullen said he expects some stiffer competition for this season’s
National Speed Association Pro Stock Asphalt Sled Series.

The Gray, Maine rider of the Abbott’s Power Equipment Polaris qualified for every event
last season and placed fifth in the 2009 Championship Point Series and fifth in the 2009
Wahl Challenge series.  Cullen, who was the 2007 NSA Points Champion, believes the
stakes will be raised for 2010.

up asphalt racing.

The sled utilizes a PCS Performance purpose-built Pro Stock chassis, PCS custom
performance pipes and PCS asphalt suspension.

“This engine-chassis-pipe combination is the only way to go,” said Cullen.  “If you don’t
have this combo, you’re getting beat by someone who does.”

Crew chief on the team is David Abbott, owner of Abbott’s Power Equipment in Waterboro,
Maine.  Abbott’s is an authorized Polaris dealer and provides everything for the outdoor
enthusiast from its showroom in Waterboro, Maine.  Leading the race team since the
beginning is co-owner Judy Abbott.

Cullen, who started asphalt racing in the late nineties, said he enjoys racing in the NSA
Series because there is a level of competition like nothing else in the country.  He is looking
forward to this season and the growth of the Series.

“I’m excited to see the Series with new faces,” said Cullen. “And hopefully I can stay in the
hunt and win rounds.”

Cullen will be ready to race at the NSA season opener on May 22 at New England Dragway
in Epping, New Hampshire.  Qualifying for the single day event gets underway Saturday
morning with elimination rounds for the NSA sleds following in the early afternoon.
“I think the level of competition will be
much higher this year,” said the rider of
the Abbott’s Pro Stock. “I think it’s going
to be a fight right to the end.”

May 24, 2010 – Pearl is back in the winner’s circle in 2010

The Newport, Maine racer and 2009 NSA Champion picked up where he left off last season
by qualifying his Bangor Motorsports Pro Stock in the number one spot at the 2010 NSA
season opener.  Pearl stayed consistent
throughout the day to win his third National
Speed Association event.

at the NSA Season Opener - .074 in the
first round against Ed Armstrong (Holyoke,

In the final, Zucco had a better reaction time than Pearl, but Pearl’s MRE 1000 engine had
the horsepower to drive around Zucco at the top end of the track.

Pearl had a bye in the first round, and overpowered Ken Lund (Brunswick, ME) in a very
close race in the second round.  Pearl also defeated Kristin Stanley (Gray, ME) in the semi’s
as she suffered from engine troubles.

but suffered a belt issue in the semi’s against
event runner up Zucco.

The next NSA points event is scheduled for
June 12 at New England Dragway in Epping,
New Hampshire.  This will also be the first of
three points events in the Wahl Challenge
series.
June 13, 2010 - Second points race a wash out

Unfortunately Mother Nature got the win over the weekend as Race 2 of the NSA
Championship points series was rained out.  Showers were the theme for most of the day.
The New England Dragway staff worked diligently to dry the track in the afternoon, but the
final round of showers came in the early evening hours which ultimately ended all possibility
of a comeback.

This would have been the first points race in the 2010 Wahl Asphalt Challenge series which
will be rescheduled to the last three NSA races of the season.

The Wahl Asphalt Challenge will now be comprised of the following three race dates:

July 18, 2010 – Hamel earns first NSA Pro Stock event win

Brian Hamel (S. Hadley, MA) earned his first ever NSA event win on Saturday July 17th at
the Night of Thrills show at New England Dragway.

Hamel qualified the A2Z Race Engines Pro Stock in the number one spot.  Dan Zering, co-
owner and tuner on the team, made the right changes in qualifying and maintained that
quick setup throughout the day.

Twelve race teams were in
Epping, New Hampshire for the
third points race of the NSA
season.  Unfortunately the day
got off to a late start as the
track personnel worked into
the early afternoon in the
90-degree heat to dry the top
end of the track.  Heavy
downpours on Friday night
soaked the track and
uncontrollable weeping in the
shut down area prevented ¼
mile racing on this day.

Hamel had some tough riders
to beat on race day.  He had a
close first round against Dale Swartwout (Saratoga, NY) as Swartwout cut a better light but
Hamel drove around him with the quicker sled.  Hamel also battled a tough second round
when his reaction time slipped a bit.  His opponent, Ricky Romano (Poland, ME) had an
outstanding light, but would suffer the loss to the quicker A2Z sled.  Hamel had a bye into
the final round where he met Dan Meyer (Gray, ME).  Meyer's sled stumbled off the line
and succumbed to the consistently quick Hamel/Zering team.

Hamel and the A2Z Racing team scored a huge payday taking home $2750 for the win.
The team also posted the quickest ET
5.313 and top speed 130.78 mph of
the 1/8th mile event.

As a result of the win, Hamel now leads
the Wahl Asphalt Challenge and
moved from 11th to 2nd in the NSA
Championship points series.

The next NSA points event is the MSD
Asphalt Challenge on August 7 at New
England Dragway in Epping, New
Hampshire.  This event will also be the
second of three points events in the
Wahl Challenge series.
August 10, 2010 - NSA teams up with LoSciuto Productions

The National Speed Association sled series enjoyed an awesome day of racing on Saturday
August 7th at the MSD Powersports sponsored Pro Stock 1000 event at New England
Dragway.  The weather was fantastic for racing with temps in the mid-70’s and no threat of
rain in sight.

The Bangor Motorsports team of Jay Pearl and Kurt Thomas went the distance to enjoy their
second win of the 2010 season.  The Veteran rider and crew chief qualified their Arctic Cat
night testing.  The team from New York had their A2Z motor rocking and ran a personal best
8.378 ET and 154.71 mph in eliminations.  Marsh beat fellow A2Z racer Brian Hamel (South
Hadley, MA) in the first round, Jeff Cullen (Gray, ME) in the second round and Ken Lund

September 14, 2010 – Stanley caps record breaking weekend with win

Kristin Stanley (Gray, Maine) capped off a tremendous record-setting weekend with an
event win on Sunday during the IHRA Nitro Jam event at New England Dragway in Epping,
New Hampshire.  Stanley qualified her PCS Performance Pro Stock into the number one
PCS Performance win
spot and stayed consistent all the day
to win her second National Speed
Association event.

Fifteen race teams were battling it out
for the final race win of the season
during the prestigious two-day race.

Three rounds of qualifying took place
on Saturday before eliminations began
on Saturday night.  Stanley went into
eliminations with an 8.317-second
elapsed time earning her the number
one qualifying spot.  Dan Meyer (Gray,
ME) ran an impressive 8.362-second
elapsed time gaining him the number
two spot, followed closely by Paul
Austin (Camano Island, WA) with an
Jesse Miller, Steve Stanley, Kristin Stanley, Phil Stanley

8.396 and Jay Pearl (Newport, ME) with an 8.411 ET.

Stanley benefited from a bye in the first round where she set a new National Record of
157.47 mph with her MRE (McLeod Racing Engines) powered Pro Stock.  Pearl, Meyer and
Austin all posted excellent 8.3-second passes this round as well.

The four quickest teams of the weekend squared off in the semi-finals on Sunday after a
hard fought battle through rounds one and two.  The top half of the ladder had Stanley
matched up with Pearl while the bottom half pitted Austin against Meyer.
Stanley and Pearl were up first.  Pearl had a
better reaction time but broke a chain early in
the run, giving Stanley the round win.  Adding to
their already incredible performance, the PCS
Performance team would improve on their
previous ET Record from 2008 by running an
8.238-second pass this round.

Austin and Meyer were up next.  After what
appeared to be a lengthy staging dual, the pair
posted identical reaction times, with Austin
having the quicker sled this round with yet
another 8.3-second run.
The final round between Stanley and Austin was staged to be a close one.  Austin left first
with his better reaction time but Stanley quickly ran him down for the win.

Congratulations to NSA newcomer Steve Oxley on several successful trips down the 1/4-mile
track ending with a personal best 8.71-second ET at 145.67 mph.  Oxley is no stranger to
racing snowmobiles and is now hooked on NSA asphalt drag racing.

Veteran racer Jay Pearl (Newport, ME) had a very successful season and secured enough
points to capture both the NSA Championship Point Series Title and the Wahl Challenge
Title.  The Bangor Motorsports Team becomes the first race team in NSA history to earn two
highly coveted Championship Titles and is the first to achieve them back-to-back.
September 28, 2010 - Pearl earns back-to-back Wahl Cup

2010 was the third year of the Wahl Racing Asphalt Challenge series.  This 3-race points
series was masterminded by Dave Wahl, owner of Wahl Bros Racing Products.  Wahl has
vast experience in the snowmobile racing world and has built one of the most successful
snowmobile performance
parts companies in the
country.

The Wahl Challenge points
battle came down to the final
race of the season with Jay
Pearl (Bangor Motorsports),
Brian Hamel (A2Z Racing),
Scott Marsh
(Scooterboy/Big-E Racing)
and Dan Meyer (Meyer
Racing) in a close battle
going into the third and final
points race in the season.
Hamel unfortunately
suffered from a red light in
the first round of the final points race while Marsh succumbed to Pearl in the second round.
Meyer made a nice showing into the semi final round but was defeated this round by Veteran
racer Paul Austin (Camano Island, WA).  Pearl matched Meyer’s semi-final finish and
secured his place as the 2010 Wahl Cup Champion.

The top four places were awarded after the final race.  They are as follows:
1st -         Jay Pearl, Newport, ME                   (Bangor Motorsports)
2nd -        Scott Marsh, Highland, NY              (Big-E / Scooterboy Racing)
3rd -         Brian Hamel, So. Hadley, MA          (A2Z Racing)
4th -         Dan Meyer, Gray, ME                     (Meyer Racing)

Ken Lund was the first to receive his name on the Limited Edition Wahl Racing trophy as the
2008 Champion in the Wahl Racing series, followed by Pearl in 2009.  This incredible
“traveling” trophy will again have Pearl’s name added to it and will travel from year to year
with the winner of each season’s Wahl Challenge.

A special thank you goes out to Dave Wahl and Wahl Bros Racing on their continued
support of the NSA Pro Stock 1000cc Asphalt series.
