Jason Dunigan wins in Maryland...

Congratulations to Jason Dunigan (Jackson, MI) on his win over Kristin Cartwright (Gray, ME) in
the final round of the NSA Pro Stock sled event at MIR.  Dunigan's sled was flying all day and with
temperatures well over 102 degrees, this was not an easy thing to do.

Dunigan started out the weekend by qualifying in the #1 spot with an 8.733, which beat Kenny
Burlew’s prior run of 8.734 by just .001!  This set the stage for an exciting first round of
eliminations with the top half of the field running quicker than 8.78 seconds.

Congratulations are also in order for Jeff Farthing (New Tripoli, PA) on his #3 qualifying spot with
an 8.740 at 149.28mph.  Farthing had some motor problems during the first round of eliminations,
but his qualifying pass helped set the standard for an exciting weekend of racing.

The Dunigan Racing team were the big winners this weekend with a new 121” Camoplast asphalt
track for the #1 qualifying spot, a $200 Wahl Bros gift certificate for the best mph in eliminations
and $1000 for the overall event win.  What a weekend of racing for the Dunigan team.

Jeff Cullen wins the IHRA Canadian National event...

Jeff Cullen (Gray, ME) defeated Jeff Farthing (New Tripoli, PA) in the final round of eliminations
on Sunday during the IHRA Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga,
Ontario.  What an exciting weekend of racing for Cullen with his battle against leaking cylinders,
blown pistons and clutch replacement.  During the first round of qualifying on Friday night,
Cullen's Abbott's Power Equipment Polaris suffered a loose engine bolt, which destroyed both
the front and rear clutches.  After a blown piston and cracked cylinder during the 3rd round of
qualifying, Cullen was in the bottom half of the field going into eliminations on Sunday.  A late
night and few fresh parts are all that was needed to give Cullen the winning sled.

For his efforts, Cullen was awarded the top prize of $1000, a $250 Fireball certificate and a
Wiseco Piston 60% discount certificate for winning the event, as well as a $200 Wahl Bros
certificate for posting the highest mph during eliminations – 152.66mph!

Congratulations are also in order for Joe Vitetta and Gary Schweikert for their outstanding semi-
final finish during this weekends event.  Each took home a $50 Fireball Performance Coatings
gift certificate and a Wiseco Piston 60% discount certificate.

Congratulations to Gary Schweikert from Slatington, PA for his #1 qualifying spot (8.706) going
into eliminations on Sunday.  Gary won a new Camoplast asphalt track and was awarded an
exclusive IHRA Top Qualifier polo shirt from the IHRA Race Officials.
